go is
the FIA's latest outreach programme and follows on
from the successful Adopt a School programme. Developed
to help build stronger links between the fitness
industry and secondary schools,
go aims
to help teenage girls (15 and 16 year olds) to understand
the benefits of being active, and show that it can
actually be fun.
By linking FIA registered health clubs and leisure centres with their local secondary schools, teenage girls gain the opportunity to increase their activity levels whilst being educated on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
go:
- Links FIA member leisure centres and health clubs
with their local secondary schools.
- Targets girls in their final year of school who
are 15/16 years old
- Provides a minimum six week programme of activities
- Provides opportunities for participants to continue
their new exercise regime in the centre/club after
the programme
Workshops
In order to give clubs/centres and schools as much
help as we can to successfully roll out and evaluate
the programme, we are holding a series of combined go and
Adopt a School "Making it Happen" Workshops
in June. For further information, dates, venues
